Google Help To Search for Earthquake Victims in Chile


An earthquake magnitude 8.8 hit Chile, one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded. This happened on February 27, 2010 around 3:34 am. According to Chilean authorities, more than 700 people are now known to have died. Assistance from various countries have come to reduce the public grief that have become victims of the disaster, and Google did not stay silent, they moved to provide assistance and support.


Google launches new service to help search for victims of an earthquake in Chile. Through Person Finder: Chile Earthquake services, one can find relatives or friends who became victims of the earthquake. Application service is available in two languages ie, Spanish and English. As reported by AFP.
Users just enter the name of the victim who wanted to find whether the status has been found or not. Choice questions and statements given is' I'm looking for someone "and" I have information about a person ".
Until last Saturday afternoon, Google's 'Person Finder' has been tracking the status of approximately 1,400 people. This service is also actually applied when searching Google to help earthquake victims in Haiti, last month. At that time, Google has recorded approximately 58,700 track search.
